Tim Prince was the Democratic nominee in the 2008 congressional elections for the 41st Congressional District (map) of California. He was the Democratic nominee seeking to challenge incumbent Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.), but lost to Lewis in the November 4 general election.^[1]

Tim Prince was born in the Inland Empire. Prince has served the public and legal profession for over 15 years, practicing law with former San Bernardino County Bar Association presidents Caywood Borror, James Dunn, Richard Scott and M. Stanford Tomlinson. Borror and Tomlinson both received the prestigious James B. Surr Award, the highest honor of the local bar. For the last eight years, Prince has been partner at Tomlinson, Nydam & Prince, LLP in San Bernardino , responsible for major product liability, wrongful termination and personal injury litigation, representing both injured persons and businesses. Prince is active in many local civic organizations. He has volunteered with groups such as the Rotary Club of San Bernardino, where he currently serves and President-Elect, the Downtown Business Association, Native Sons of the Golden West, California Alumni Association, American Lung Association of San Bernardino, YWCA of Greater San Bernardino, as well as the San Bernardino County Bar Association. Prince has served as Judge Pro Tem of the San Bernardino Superior Court. He donates his time and legal experience to the Legal Aid Clinic of San Bernardino and Cal State University , San Bernardino legal clinic. Prince is also active in state and local politics as elected State Executive Board Member of the California Democratic Party, officer and former president of the Democratic Luncheon Club of San Bernardino, elected delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention and numerous state conventions. He has been elected three times from the 63rd Assembly District to serve on the San Bernardino County Democratic Central Committee. He served as Parliamentarian from 2004-06, and he chaired a committee which drafted revisions to the by-laws which were adopted by the Central Committee. He authored and fought for the eventual passage of a smoking ordinance in San Bernardino , which made that city a leader in public health. In 1997, he was chair of the campaign defeating Measure S, a property tax that would have significantly impacted local businesses as well as individuals. At age 32, he was successful out of six candidates in the primary, including current and former councilmembers, for mayor of San Bernardino . He was narrowly defeated in a 1998 runoff by Judith Valles. He has remained active since that time in local and Democratic politics, advising and supporting successful Democrats in local, state and national races. Tim served as founder and chair of the June 2007 San Bernardino Summit, a city-wide event which revitalized civic pride and presented a framework for downtown Renaissance advocated by San Bernardino Mayor Pat Morris. Tim also participated in the Urban Land Insitute's San Bernardino development assessment that same month. Prince enjoys travel, and his musical ability includes classical piano and jazz trombone. He is married to Lucienne Prince and is the proud father of Annelise, 4, and Justin, 3.
