"Halvorson, Kinzinger hope to slide ahead on oil spill" Morris Daily Herald. June 19, 2010.
This article details Kinzinger's suggestion to open up the BP spill to foreign help. He noted that the spill should be an international affair, and the federal government should “open dialog with other oil companies and say, ‘What do you guys have,’ and to other nations and say, ‘What kind of boats can you guys bring down here to help us skim the oil off.” Kinzinger's also suggests to create a donation fund "to keep the pressure off of BP." He states that the main focus, however, should be on plugging the hole and stopping the flow of oil by any means necessary.

"Kinzinger turns focus to economy" Morris Daily Herald. April 15, 2010.
Kinzinger strongly opposes cap and trade legislation on the grounds that it will alienate major industries and producers who will leave the county if the bill is passed. Eliminating the threat of a cap-and-trade bill is at the top of Kinzinger's priorities as it would hurt the local economy. He instead support alternative methods of gaining energy independence, stating, "This agenda will lead to real jobs and make all the difference to workers and employers in the 11th District and the country.”
Health
"POLITICS: Candidate Kinzinger calls for health care bill's repeal -- The GOP nominee says Halvorson 'out of touch' with district" MyWebTimes. March 24, 2010.
Kinzinger called for the repeal of the health care bill only hours after President Obama signed it into law. He supports the creation of an alternative bipartisan bill that can deal with the structural issues in health care "without a new giant government bureaucracy."
